Many people are familiar with Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel “To Kill a Mockingbird” because it has been a staple of school reading lists since its publication in 1960. Now State College Community Theatre will bring Christopher Sergel’s stage version of this coming-of-age story to Centre County as the fourth offering in its 50th summer season.

I play Miss Maudie, a sympathetic neighbor and the narrator of the drama.

SCCT’s production of “To Kill a Mockingbird” will be staged at 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 23 – Saturday, July 26 and Tuesday, July 29 – Saturday, August 2 at the Boal Barn Playhouse, off U.S. Route 322, Boalsburg. Visit http://www.scctonline.org for more information.

Tickets are $12 and are available by calling 814-466-7141 Monday through Saturday, 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

It was a great novel and a great movie, so I’m guessing it’s a pretty exciting play, too. So you’re the one who gets to tell the kids about “one shot Atticus”? Best of luck.

Yep! “I saw that, One Shot Finch!!”

    MAD DOG’S COMING! MAD DOG!
